It’s all in the perspective
I was confiding in a new friend of mine that my life is boring. I work, work, work and often feel I have nothing of any interest to talk about, to anyone. Funny how we get into these strange frames of mind and need a fresh take on things in order to see them for what they are. I was just visiting Crafty Chica’s blog and here’s a quote from her current post; “It is a crime for any of us to even think we lead a boring life. If you really stop and break it down, each portion of the day can translate into a juicy slice-of-life tale”. Go visit her blog to read the rest of the story, it’s insightful and oh so relevant to me today. When I step back and look at things from a different perspective, I really have an exciting life. I get to travel for my work, meet people from all over the world with whom I share a common passion. I get to work with some of the biggest manufacturers and retailers in the business, hobnobbing with the stars of the industry…I’m very, very lucky and blessed to have journeyed to where I am. I’ve worked hard to get here, no sudden “stardom”, that’s for certain, but I’ve really enjoyed that journey. Yep, there are days that I feel are long and filled with not so exciting tasks, but when I think about it, that’s the quiet time I need in order to let seeds of inspiration germinate and begin to blossom into my next big project. And, along the way to the place I’m in now, I’ve met and gotten to know some amazingly talented people who I now call “friend”. With the industry currently undergoing changes, wherever I end up and with whomever I do business in the future, the path is my choosing and I plan to walk in it with enthusiasm for my work and pride in my accomplishments. Thanks CraftyChica for pointing me in the right direction today, you spoke the words I needed to hear on the very day I need to hear them!
