Busy, busy, busy

too busy, really.

I’m getting ready for my double trip- first to Costa Rica and then right onto CHA summer show from there. I’m nowhere near ready for either! Trying to figure out what to pack, what to ship is crazy hard because for one week,  I’ll be at the beach and then go right into trying to look professional and put together….yikes. Husband is shipping me a  box for my CHA visit so that’s certainly going to help! I wish he was going with me, but he can’t due to work. So, it’s my brothers and I along with a couple of fiends. I’m taking some Ampersand pastel/wet media boards and my pastels and a little paint to lay in grounds on the boards. If you’ve never used Ampersand, you should give it a go, I LOVE it even though it is a bit pricey. Look here to see an example of one of my pastel paintings. Pastels are so immediate and satisfying to use, I can’t wait to get busy with them!

This last week was the Atlanta Gift Mart which I always attend. I look at trends, color, product configurations and seek out new licensing opportunities. I had the pleasure of having several dinner meetings, one with a great and really fun group of artist friends. We shared good and bad stories of working in the licensing world, had some good laughs and some great inspiration from each other. I also had a wonderful dinner with my agents. We dined at the Four Seasons where my son-in-law is the Exec Chef. It was Sunday night so the dining room was closed but they offer wonderful small plates off the lounge menu. It was so nice to sit and chat with them and they offered me a lot of guidance based on their years of experience.

Don’t forget to tune in to INSPIRED AT HOME Blog talk radio on Sunday Evening where I’ll be talking about color! Learn how color can help you loose weight, give you energy, calm you down or tell people that you are confident and powerful! I’ll also give a link for a free downloadable color palette based on current trend colors that you can use in your next crafting project or even home decor!
